100 Days In: Reflections from FENTEC’s CEO Kimmo Pyykönen

The first 100 days in a new leadership role are often seen as an important milestone. A time to listen, learn, and build a strong foundation for the future.

After his first months as CEO of FENTEC, Kimmo Pyykönen reflects on what has stood out so far, from people and culture to customer collaboration and jouyney ahead.

FENTEC CEO Kimmo Pyykönen

1. You have now been CEO of FENTEC for 100 days. What has stood out most compared to your expectations before taking on the role?
There haven’t been any major surprises. A thorough and transparent recruitment process gave me a solid understanding of both the role and FENTEC, as well as the opportunities ahead.

2. What has changed in your thinking since day one?
The importance of a clear and well-executed strategy has become even more evident. I have come to appreciate even more how having the Auroora Group as our owner gives us added strength, stability, and long-term support as we continue to grow.

3. What has made you most proud so far?
What has made me most proud is the strong commitment across our organization to keeping our customer promises. I have also been deeply impressed by the quality of our innovative products and by the genuinely open and warm welcome I have received.

4. What have you learned about people and culture?
What has stood out to me is a strong team spirit and enthusiasm for moving the business forward together. The whole organization has a positive attitude toward change, as well as a shared commitment to support our new strategy.

5. What have these first 100 days taught you about our customers or market?
One of the clearest takeaways for me has been how close collaboration with our customers has made it possible to develop a broad and relevant product offering that creates real value for their business. It has shown that we are one of the leading companies in our field, and that there is a clear and growing need for our modern vending solutions in the market.

6. What are you excited to build next?
I am proud of the strong foundation we have built in such a short period of time. I now look forward to further stabilizing and improving our operations to support our strategic goals. I am also excited to see our international growth initiatives gain momentum and to continue developing them further.
